The authors conclude that treatments targeting verbs responded similarly to treatments targeting nouns. Overall, studies suggest that treatments targeting verbs at the single word and sentence-level are effective in improving the word retrieval of treated verbs. However, limited generalizability to untreated verbs was reported across studies and no evidence was found for one therapy approach over another (e.g., semantic versus phonological). Further research is needed to examine the impact of treatment on verb retrieval, sentence production, and connected speech.
