Results demonstrated videofluoroscopic study of swallowing to be beneficial for objective interpretation and optimizing data from the swallow assessment.

No one instrument (e.g., manometry, videofluoroscopic study of swallowing) could describe the swallowing and feeding mechanism in its entirety, which suggested a need for using a combination of instrumental measures.

Although high-resolution manometry was reported to be valuable in clinical swallowing evaluation, it was limited by its cost and the skills required to perform the evaluation and interpret data.
