<p><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Emerging evidence suggested that direct voice therapy with electromyographic biofeedback promotes positive behavioral changes in individuals with dysphonia. Individual findings included:</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Two case studies reported reduced laryngeal tension in one child and one adult with muscle tension dysphonia. One study reported maintained improvements at 6-month follow-up.&nbsp;</span></span></li> <li><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">One case study reported that biofeedback reduced respiratory distress, laryngeal tension, and chest pain in an adult with paradoxical vocal fold movement. These improvements persisted at 6-month follow-up.&nbsp;</span></span></li> </ul> <div><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span style="vertical-align: inherit;">Additional research is indicated due to limited, low quality evidence.&nbsp;</span></span></div>
