While limited by the number and methodological quality of included studies, the authors found that individuals with TBI often need help for their cognitive problems which appear to increase beyond the chronic phase of recovery. "One of the most frequent needs reported by patients with TBI is assistance with loss of memory and problem solving skills" (p. 1203). The authors conclude that "in spite of the increased need, professional assistance seems to lag behind" (p. 1204).
