<div>This systematic review with meta-analysis investigates the diagnostic accuracy of the Delirium Observation Screening (DOS) scale for detecting delirium in individuals. Of note, although speech-language pathologists (SLPs) do not diagnose delirium, SLPs may administer delirium screening tools as part of a multidisciplinary effort to prevent and manage delirium.</div>

<div>The DOS scale demonstrated acceptable accuracy and reliability (pooled sensitivity=90%; pooled specificity=92%) for detecting delirium in older adults. The authors also highlighted the ease and speed of administering the DOS compared to similar tools.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Limitations of this review include the small number of included studies.&nbsp;Additional research is needed to investigate the accuracy of the DOS across various clinical settings and populations.</div>
