This systematic review investigates the effects of myofunctional therapy on the respiratory outcomes of adults with sleep-disordered breathing. While orofacial myofunctional therapy is within speech-language pathology scope of practice, a number of obstructive sleep apnea measurement and respiratory outcomes not relevant to speech-language pathologists are included in this review.

<div>The findings revealed that myofunctional therapy have a positive effect on reducing sleep apnea in adult populations. No evidence was found to support the use of myofunctional therapy to treat airway resistance syndrome or to determine the dosage and duration of treatment.</div>
