Findings demonstrated the following outcomes for reminiscence therapy for people with dementia:<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #333333;">significant positive impacts on cognitive function (Standard Mean Difference [SMD]: 0.45, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.24 to 0.67);</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #333333;">significant positive impacts on quality of life (SMD: 0.47, 95% CI: 0.21 to 0.73);</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #333333;">significant reductions in depression (SMD: -0.53, 95% CI: -0.70 to -0.36)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #333333;">significant reduction in other neuropsychiatric symptoms (SMD: -0.35, 95% CI: -0.59 to -0.10); and</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #333333;">no significant impact on dependency as measures by performance in activities of daily living.</span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #333333;">Limitations for this review include generally small sample sizes and variable risk of bias within included studies as well as heterogeneity between studies. Further research is warranted.</span>
