No included studies met the minimum requirements of What Works Clearinghouse for the authors to provide an overall summary rating; however, results indicated that Self-Regulation Strategy Development (SRSD) was the most promising effective writing intervention to foster maintenance of writing skills in compare-contrast and persuasive essays. Results also demonstrated that writing interventions that utilized the pentop computer were moderately effective.
