The included studies demonstrated that, when compared to peers implanted after 12 months of age, children implanted with a cochlear implant before 12 months of age scored better in the following areas:<br /> <ul> <li>speech production;</li> <li>auditory performance; and</li> <li>two out of five receptive language measures.</li> </ul>
