Findings demonstrated that most of the studies used surface modifications, such as translation, and few studies used deeper level adaptations. "Due to limitations in the screening instruments [(e.g., <em>Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers</em>)], scholars have not encouraged integrating autism screening within routine practice and warranted further investigation for individual cultures" (p. 16).
