Web-based and application-based interventions targeting self-management concepts (e.g., completion of activities, communication, activity levels, sense of independence, engagement) showed positive impacts for adults with dementia. Two studies investigating the adoption and usability of these technologies found that the individual's confidence in using the intervention influenced whether they implemented the web- or appplication-based strategy. The authors noted that across all of the investigated outcomes, the studies included small sample sizes and lacked high-quality research designs.
