This guideline provides recommendations for the provision of screening for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in primary care settings to asymptomatic children between 18-30 months. Recommendations were guided by a systematic review prepared for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (McPheeters, et al., 2016).

"The [United States Preventive Services Task Force] USPSTF concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess<br />the balance of benefits and harms of screening for [autism spectrum disorder] ASD in young children for whom no concerns of ASD have been raised by their parents or a clinician. (I statement)" (p. 691).
