This review investigates the effect of reading comprehension interventions on reading comprehension outcomes in middle school students, in grades 6-8 or 12-14 years old, with learning disabilities.
The findings from this review found reading comprehension interventions to be effective for middle school children with learning disabilities. The majority of studies examined treatments using strategy instruction (e.g., main idea summarization questioning, clarifying strategies) and reported medium to large effects.
