<p>Three studies investigating sound localization in individuals with single-sided deafness (SSD) who have a cochlear implant (CI) reported significant improvements in bimodal sound localization as compared to hearing aid-only or unaided sound localization abilities.</p><p>Four studies investigating speech perception abilities in individuals with SSD reported improved skills with a CI.</p>
Five out of seven studies investigating tinnitus relief in individuals with single-sided deafness (SSD) who received a cochlear implant (CI) reported statistically significant reduction of tinnitus symptoms after CI.
