Meta-analysis of the data from nine studies found that the canalith repositioning procedure (CRP) was an effective treatment for patients with BPPV. Individuals treated with the CRP had 4.6 times greater symptom resolution at the time of first follow-up compared to controls. The treatment effect of the CRP was strongest in the first month of treatment. Individuals who received CRP were more likely to demonstrate a negative Dix-Hallpike after the first month of treatment.
