For the majority of patients with vestibular schwannomas, cochlear implantation (CI) provides objective and subjective benefits. While a minority of patients experienced small or no improvement after CI, the authors were unable to identify a reason for this variability in outcomes due to the heterogeneity of variables (e.g., patient, tumor, and radiation treatment-related characteristics) across studies.
