<div>VR-based cognitive interventions provided by nurses had the following effects in individuals with dementia:</div> <div> <ul> <li><strong>Cognition: </strong>There was a significant effect on cognitive functioning (MD = 1.61) across six non-heterogenous sources.</li> <li><strong>QoL: </strong>Improved QoL was reported in two studies. Effect sizes not reported due to the inclusion of non-scope treatments.</li> <li><strong>ADLs:</strong> There was a significant effect on ADL performance (MD = 2.91) across two studies.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Negative emotions: </strong>There was a significant reduction in negative emotions (MD = -4.00) across two studies.</li> </ul> <div>Limitations to this review include a lack of long-term follow-up, limited available research, small sample sizes, and heterogeneity between studies.
