One study considered hearing-aid use during the school day. When teachers completed a checklist and were given feedback, school hearing aid use increased for younger elementary school-aged children. Three articles addressed support for parents of young children who use hearing-aids. One used telesupport to provide management of technical issues related to hearing-aids and used data logging to track hearing-aid use. An increase was seen for hours of hearing-aid use. Another study used an educational workshop, individual coaching, and check-ins along with data logging, which were successful in improving hearing-aid use. The final study provided a structured education and support program and assessed hearing-aid use via parent report. Significant improvements were found for parents' gains in knowledge, confidence, and device monitoring frequency. None of the studies assessed internal challenges such as frustration, fear of failure, or feeling overwhelmed.
