<div>Findings indicated that the sensitivity (0.72, 0.91) of the Ascertain Dementia 8 (AD8) questionnaire was superior to the specificity (0.67, 0.78) in screening for cognitive impairment in primary care settings in the community, clinics, and hospitals. Results also suggested that false positive results may occur with the AD8 due to poorer specificity and positive likelihood ratio (2.52, 3.94), but false negative results were suggested to be less likely due to a higher negative likelihood ratio (0.17, 0.13). "Therefore, similar to all other screening tools, if the result is positive, a further diagnosis is necessary" (p. 245).</div>
