<div>Meta-analysis of 11 studies reported the following psychometrics for the Nu-DESC when used to identify delirium in hospitalized adults:</div> <div> <ul> <li>pooled sensitivity = 68.6%;</li> <li>pooled specificity = 89.4%;</li> <li>pooled estimate of the area under the hierarchical summary receiver-operating characteristic curve = 0.88;</li> <li>81.1% of both positive predictive value and negative predictive value observed with a prevalence of about 40%;</li> <li>with cut-off value &gt;1,&nbsp;the pooled sensitivity was 54.5% and the pooled specificity was 93.6%; and</li> <li>with a cut-off value &gt;0, the pooled sensitivity was 77.3% and the pooled specificity was 92.8%.</li> </ul> <div>Limitations to this review included potential for publication bias as well as the small number of included studies.</div> </div>
