Findings suggested that the timing of cochlear implantation (simultaneous cochlear implantation and tumor resection versus delayed cochlear implantation after tumor resection) did seem to significantly influence cochlear implant outcomes.
Results indicated that 83.9% of patients who have had a cochlear implant following a vestibular schwannoma resection reported to use their device on a daily basis and 54.8% achieved open-set speech.
