<div>Mixed effects were reported following support groups for children and adults who stutter. Of note, the content and providers of these support groups were not provided. As such, these programs may not have had speech-language pathologist involvement. Specific findings of these studies included:</div> <div> <ul> <li>Two studies reported consistent positive results for adult support groups such as fewer negative beliefs about stuttering and increased disclosure of stuttering.&nbsp;</li> <li>Two studies reported no significant effects for adult support groups regarding outcomes such as self-acceptance or fear and avoidance.</li> <li>Five studies reported mixed findings on findings for support groups for children, adolescents, or adults on outcomes such as stuttering impact, perceived support, and negative beliefs about stuttering.</li> </ul> <div>Limitations to this review include the potential exclusion of relevant studies and heterogeneity between studies. Additional research is warranted.</div> </div>
