<div>Evidence suggested that compensatory strategies, such as diet modification, head postures, swallowing maneuvers, seemed to be applicable and efficacious in improving airway protection. However, no well-proven rehabilitative strategies were reported to improve overall swallowing function in patients with Huntington's disease.</div>

<div>Evidence indicated that clinical assessment tools and patient reported outcomes measures may be used to complete the swallowing examination for patients with Huntington's disease, but cannot replace instrumental assessment such as videofluoroscopic study of swallowing or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.</div>

<div>Findings suggested that dysphagia needs to be assessed from an early stage of Huntington's disease, especially when specific clinical markers are observed. Evidence suggested that the timing for re-assessment of dysphagia is best determined by the swallowing experts on the individual's case.</div>
