Of the 62 included studies, 22 studies investigated communication interventions in children with Rett syndrome. Results indicated that communication interventions increased communication abilities, such as choice-making, communicative language, and social communicative acts. "Overall, low-, medium-, and high-technology interventions were uniquely effective with facilitating choice-making in females with RTT" (p. 911).
