Results of parent-implemented language interventions for children aged 1 to 5 years with developmental delays indicated the following: <ul> <li>"positive effects of interventions on parental responsiveness and on children's communication, including significant&nbsp;increases in the frequency of specific aspects of language (i.e., vocabulary diversity, lexical density, MLU [mean length of utterance]) as a part of the child&rsquo;s communication" (p. 136); and</li> <li>no effects on children's expressive language vocabulary development.</li> </ul>
