<div>Evidence-based literacy instruction in phonics, reading fluency, reading comprehension, written expression, or spelling skills improved reading and writing skills for children with CP; however, there were small sample sizes and varied quality ratings.</div>

<div>A single low-quality study using a multicomponent instruction approach (e.g., phonics, spelling, sight-word recognition, and communication) improved the communication, word identification, and spelling skills for children using alternative and augmentative communication. No studies addressed vocabulary.</div>
