Unmet needs of people with ABI included the need for information, support services, and person-centered care plans as well as needs in the areas of independent living, return to work and social activities, and emotional needs. Barriers to accessing services included transportation difficulty, financial burden, lack of insight and awareness, cognitive impairment, and poor referral pathways. Barriers on the side of healthcare professionals included poor organizational structures, lack of service provision, poor communication, and poor training.
