<div> <div>Findings demonstrated positive outcomes following writing treatments in a majority of adults with acquired central dysgraphia following stroke. In those that did not respond to treatment, the following potential barriers to success were noted: severe semantic deficits, deficits in auditory comprehension, and poor visual processing. Limitations to this review include small sample sizes, reduced methodological rigor, and heterogeneity between included studies. Further research is indicated.</div> </div>

<div>Findings demonstrated positive gains in spelling following phonological treatments. However, further research is needed to determine the true efficacy of these treatments for adults with acquired dysgraphia due to exceedingly small sample sizes.</div>

<div>Findings demonstrated that lexical treatments (e.g., Copy and Recall Treatment, spell-study-spell treatment, repetition treatment) were associated with improved spelling outcomes in 33 of 35 participants. Gains were noted in trained word stimuli, with mixed results regarding generalization to untrained stimuli.</div>

<div>Findings demonstrated positive gains in spelling following mixed lexical-phonological interactive treatments (e.g., multiple oral rereading approach). However, further research is needed to determine the true efficacy of these treatments for adults with acquired dysgraphia due to exceedingly small sample sizes.</div>
