Based upon risk of bias, accessibility, cost, and validity measures, the authors of this review found the Infant-Toddler Checklist/Communication and Symbolic Behaviors Scales Developmental Profile (ITC/CSBS-DP) questionnaire to be the best screening tool to improve identification of children on the autism spectrum at 12-months. For use from 15-months and beyond, the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised with Follow-Up (M-CHAT-R/F) was determined to be the most effective screening tool in identifying young children on the autism spectrum.
