<div>Cognitive stimulation demonstrated mixed effects for individuals with dementia or MCI, and no conclusions about the overall efficacy could be drawn. Some studies indicated feasibility and small short-term cognitive benefits, but showed inconsistent outcomes for mood and quality of life. Most of the participants in the available research had Parkinson's related dementias.</div>

<div>Limitations of this review include the paucity of research, small sample sizes, low statistical power, heterogeneity of participants, inconsistent use of validated measures, and the lack of consistent control groups across studies. Additional research is needed to investigate the effects of adapting cognitive stimulation interventions for individuals with different dementia subtypes.</div>
