<div>For students with disabilities, four studies investigating online writing instruction found that the online environment provided technological opportunities to provide supports and scaffoldings directly into learning activities such as embedded learning strategies, procedural facilitation cue sheets, embedded text supports, and automated feedback. Due to the limited number of studies included, the authors made no conclusions regarding the effects of online writing instruction. Additional research exploring the application of evidence-based writing strategies in an online setting is warranted.</div>
