Findings demonstrated positive effects for interventions targeting complex syntax forms in preschool- and young school-aged children with language impairments. Findings also suggested scaffolding method (e.g., recasts, expansions, cloze procedures, modeling), within conversation-based and narrative-based treatment approaches, were more effective than direct imitation. Results should be interpreted with caution due to an overall lack fo research of variable quality with small sample sizes.
