Physiological Factors Related to Aspiration Risk: A Systematic Review

Dysphagia

Steele, C. M., & Cichero, J. A. (2014).

Dysphagia, 29(3), 295-304.

This two-stage review first identifies measures and parameters that correlate aspiration or risk of aspiration with dysphagia, and second, examines specific physiological factors associated with aspiration, in order to identify what clinical measures can be used to identify individuals who are at risk for aspiration.
