The authors were unable to definitively conclude that interventions targeting Wh- questions were effective due to a limited number of heterogeneous studies. However, results indicated that the following strategies may benefit children with language disorders who struggle to answer Wh- questions:

use visual representations for complex syntactic movement (e.g., a shape for a part of speech);

use intrinsic motivators, such as using manipulatives, to increase generalization;

increase the naturalness by having a peer answer question; and/or

include modeling of correct answers to support incorrect responses.
