<div>This systematic review compares the effects of elastic therapeutic taping (ETT) to the effects of ETT combined with oral motor therapy (OMT) on drooling or swallowing difficulties in children, 18 years or younger, with anterior drooling and neurological disorders. This summary highlights conclusions within the scope of speech-language pathology and for those with additional training in orofacial myofunctional disorders.</div>

<div>Using ETT after OMT reduced drooling (two studies), improved lip closure, and decreased social stigma (one study) in children with neurological disorders. ETT alone demonstrated inconsistent results (four studies). Studies reported neither swallowing outcomes nor adverse effects.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Limitations of this review include small sample sizes, low power study designs, lack of geographical and cultural diversity, heterogeneity of dosage and setting, and short study durations, Additional research is needed to investigate the impact of patient demographics on treatment efficacy.</div>
