<div>This systematic review compares the effects of elastic therapeutic taping (ETT) to the effects of ETT combined with oral and motor-based sialorrhea treatments on drooling or swallowing difficulties in children, 18 years or younger, with anterior drooling and neurological disorders. This summary highlights conclusions within the scope of speech-language pathology.</div>

<div>Using ETT after various sialorrhea treatments (e.g., oral stimulation, oral resistance training) reduced drooling frequency and severity (2 studies), improved lip closure (2 studies), and decreased social stigma (1 study) in children with neurological disorders. ETT alone demonstrated inconsistent results (4 studies). Studies reported neither swallowing outcomes nor adverse effects.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Limitations of this review include small sample sizes, low power study designs, lack of geographical and cultural diversity, heterogeneity of dosage and setting, and short study durations. Additional research is needed to investigate the impact of patient demographics on treatment efficacy.</div>
