The authors were unable to calculate a summary meta-analysis due to the heterogeneity of interventions and outcomes. Results indicated that fiberoptic flexible laryngoscopy (FFL) has a fundamental role in the evaluation of glossoptosis and as an intubation assistance tool, but the role of FFL in swallowing evaluations requires additional research.
