<div>Technology-based interventions incorporating virtual reality or computer/app-based technologies were associated with the following effects in adults with dementia:</div>
<ul>
<li>There was a statistically significant increase in cognitive function (standardized mean difference [SMD]= 0.39; Moderate Certainty of Evidence).</li>
<li>There was no significant change in performance on activities of daily living (Moderate Certainty of Evidence).</li>
<li>There was a statistically significant reduction of depression symptoms (SMD= -0.75; Low Certainty of Evidence).</li>
<li>There was no significant change in quality of life (Moderate Certainty of Evidence).</li>
</ul>
<div>Limitations to this review include heterogeneity in study design regarding treatments included and measures utilized, generally small sample sizes, and ineffective or nonexistence blinding and/or concealment allocation. Further research is indicated.</div>
