<div>Pooled results from seven studies found that NMES has a significant effect (ES = 0.66) on swallowing outcomes for individuals with dysphagia. Given that the findings are not specific to a patient population and are limited by the methodological quality of included studies and wide variety of clinical measures, further research is warranted.</div>
