<div>Diagnosis of chronic tinnitus is based on an audiological assessment for potential hearing loss. Psychosomatic comorbidities and other concomitant disorders are also considered.</div>

<div>For individuals with hearing loss (HL) and chronic tinnitus, hearing aids should be prescribed. For individuals with severe to profound HL or deafness, even if unilateral, cochlear implantation should be considered.</div>

<div>Individuals with chronic tinnitus should receive counseling and education. Patients should also be advised of self-help options.</div>

<div>Tinnitus retraining therapy can be considered for use as a long-term intervention technique. Due to a lack of evidence of efficacy, music and sound therapies (e.g., notched music training, acoustic reset) are not recommended.</div>
