<div>Hearing-specific instruments, the Hearing Measurement Scale and the Health Utilities Index, were not psychometrically evaluated for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Moderate to high risk of bias was reported in the five studies examining hearing-specific patient reported instruments. </div>

Only one study evaluated a tinnitus patient reported instrument, the Tinnitus Questionnaire for Auditory Brainstem Implant. The instrument was not psychometrically evaluated for this population and reported high risk of bias. Therefore, further research and development of new psychometrically sound patient reported instruments is needed for children and adults with cancer or stem cell transplantation.
