Findings suggest promising generalization and maintenance outcomes for peer-related social skills interventions for preschool age children on the autism spectrum. Many of the included studies involved a form of generalization-promotion strategy (e.g., having a familiar person deliver intervention, teaching across various stimuli and responses), which suggests that using any generalization-promotion strategy can support successful generalization.
