Findings demonstrated significant improvements in hearing-specific quality of life measures, including global Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit (APHAB) scores and Speech, Spatial and Qualities of Hearing Scale (SSQ) hearing qualities and speech subscales. No significant changes were noted in generic quality of life measures, including mean Health Utilities Index-3 (HUI-3) scores. Limitations to this review included mild to moderate risk of bias within included studies and heterogeneity of study designs. Further research is indicated.
