To investigate the effects of hearing aid fitting options on auditory functioning in bimodal cochlear implant users, ten studies examined hearing aid frequency response, five studies reviewed frequency transposition or compression, one study investigated dynamic compression, and six studies assessed loudness balancing or scaling. "Although a bimodal benefit was found in most studies, no consistent differences in bimodal benefit between fitting procedures were found" (p. 1043).
