Cognitive stimulation was reported to have an effect size (ES) of 0.95, suggesting cognitive stimulation to be the most effective cognitive intervention for adults with MCI. This was followed by cognitive training (ES = 0.70) and cognitive rehabilitation (ES = 0.59). Within this review, the above cognitive interventions were defined as non-pharmacological interventions addressing cognitive decline and other cognitive domains, such as executive functioning, attention, and memory.
