The included studies demonstrated generally positive effects of practitioner-implemented functional communication training to increase appropriate communication in school-aged children with disabilities and challenging behaviors. These results indicated that teachers and other school personnel can successfully implement functional communication training. The included populations consisted of one of the following disability categories: <ul> <li>multiple disabilities;</li> <li>autism spectrum disorder;</li> <li>intellectual disability; and</li> <li>developmental delay.</li> </ul>
