Findings demonstrated that cognitive stimulation was associated with improvements in memory, language comprehension, and orientation in adults with mild to moderate dementia. Improved outcomes were noted when cognitive stimulation was combined with physical activity. Of note, the included cognitive stimulation interventions involved a variety of different activities, including "word games, cooking, gardening, and discussing past events" (p. 278). Limitations to this review include heterogeneity in study design and a lack of quality analysis of included studies.
