This guideline provides recommendations for comprehensive, individualized treatment plans for individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). The target audience for these guidelines are physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare providers involved in management of patients with MS.

<div>"Multidisciplinary care is essential for effective management of many MS symptoms" (p. 55).</div>

<div>For patients with MS who have dysarthria symptoms, management may include modifying speech rate, improving breath support, increasing tongue and lip movements, improving speech sound production, teaching caregivers strategies for improving communication, and exploring alternative means of communication when needed.</div>

<div>For patients with MS who have cognitive impairment, management may include cognitive rehabilitation, compensatory strategies, safety management, medication management, financial management, modification of occupation, ruling out depression effects on attention and concentration, and addressing sleep habits.</div>

<div>For patients with MS who have dysphagia symptoms, management may include dietary changes, posture changes, volume control, eating speed, and providing education on eating small meals more frequently.</div>
