Findings demonstrated a pooled estimate of .82 for sensitivity and .83 for specificity for the RUDAS. Of note, there was variability between studies studies using different cutoff values, with the most common values of 22/23 and 23/24. Specific findings were as follows:

Diagnostic performance did not differ significantly across socioeconomic levels (z= 0.63, p= 0.53) or between groups with different levels of formal education (z= -0.15, p=0.88).

When compared with the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), overall diagnostic performance did not differ significantly (z= -0.82, p= 0.41).

Subgroup analysis revealed that, in low and middle income countries, the diagnostic performance of the RUDAS was significantly better than that of the MMSE (z = − 2.02, p = .04).
