As visibility for transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) folks increases, audiologists and SLPs may wonder how to ensure their practice is inclusive and affirming. This webinar explores culturally competent and inclusive care for gender diverse individuals. The course includes evidence-based practices, knowledge building about TGNC identities, strategies for maintaining safe spaces, and interactive case studies.

Presenter Information
Oneida Chi, MS, CCC-SLP (they/them), is a graduate from Fresno State and SF State University. They are a firstgeneration, bilingual Chinese gender-queer speech-language pathologist from San Francisco. Oneida worked in acute rehab, skilled nursing, and home health care settings for a few years in the beginning of their career. For the past 15 years, Oneida has worked in K-12 schools throughout the Bay Area. In 2016, they started their private practice, Bay Area Outspoken Speech Services, to assist friends and collaborate with community health centers to provide gender affirming voice services. Currently, they work with a regional center in early intervention, supervise the Gender Affirming Voice Clinic at SF State University, and work at the Gender Health Center in Santa Clara. They have been an outspoken advocate in creating inclusive gender and cultural perspectives within faith spaces, universities, hospitals, and community centers.

Rafael (Rafa) Brown Sampayo, BA (he/they), is a transmasculine, nonbinary, Latinx educator and graduate student in speech-language pathology at Louisiana State University. Originally from the Bronx, he graduated from Rutgers University - New Brunswick with a BA in History and Social Justice. His culminating independent study concentrated on transgender history in the context of 20th century social movements. While an undergraduate student at Rutgers, Sampayo was the co-president of LLEGO, the LGBTQIA People of Color Association. Upon graduation, Sampayo served as a special education teacher in the New Orleans public school system for 8 years. During that time, Sampayo advocated for more trauma-responsive, restorative approaches to teaching children with disabilities. He is also a former board member of Louisiana Trans Advocates, an organization that advocates for transgender equity in health care, education, housing, and public policy. Sampayo is currently a graduate student in speech-language pathology with an expected graduation date of May 2022.

Zavier Lord Williams, MS, CCC-SLP (he/him/his) is a trans identified, pediatric speech-language pathologist, currently working full-time at a public school in West Covina, California. Williams also is the founder of Empire Educational Consultants, a successful private practice and consultation firm. He worked in special education preschools in New York City for 15 years, working with children ages birth to 5 with a variety of communication delays and disorders. Williams moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and has expanded his skills to the school-age population. Williams specializes in pediatric feeding, family-centered treatment, social skills groups, and classroom-based language lessons. He also incorporates his passion for film and video in his intervention sessions. Outside of his professional endeavors, Williams has dedicated himself to the TGNC community, organizing events for Trans Day of Remembrance and Visibility. A native of the Bronx, New York, he has an MS in speech-language pathology and audiology from The Florida State University. Currently, he is working on his MS/PASC in Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton. Williams became a single father in 2018 to his amazing son, Robert. He enjoys anything Star Wars-related, photography, 80s music, and road tripping.
