Description:
SLPs face
the challenge of developing plans of care to address the evolving needs of
individuals with aphasia while incorporating research evidence and balancing
health care service delivery constraints. This webinar will use case studies to
model the use of a clinical decision-making framework and then allow you to
practice progressively applying the framework to patient examples.

develop a plan of care using the clinical decision-making framework

Information
Kathryn Borio, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with 18
years of experience working with adults with cognitive- communication
impairments at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Kathryn has worked in all levels of care
treating adults with aphasia. Kathryn currently works in the Center for Aphasia
Research and Treatment at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, performing virtual
research assessments, creating virtual programming for community groups for
people with aphasia, and working in the Intensive Aphasia Program. Kathryn
received her BS in speech-language pathology at Miami University (Ohio) and MS
from Rush University Medical Center.

Caitlin Ferrer, MA, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at the
Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago. She has worked in various levels of care
across her career, including skilled nursing, inpatient acute rehabilitation,
day rehab, outpatient, and private practice. Caitlin is currently an adjunct
professor at DePaul University’s speech-language pathology graduate
program in the School of Science and Health. Caitlin holds a special interest
in treating patients with aphasia and Parkinson’s disease. She
presents locally and nationally on topics relating to aphasia management,
clinical decision-making, and supported communication.
